Welcome to the 2010- 2011 school year! This
school year promises to be exciting,
challenging and rewarding. Our goal is to provide an outstanding educational
program for
all students. We open school ready to serve all students on August 25th.
Parent-Student-Teacher
Agreements are due September 3rd. (Please see Agreement)
A positive learning environment ensures success for all students. We strongly
believe that
all students will achieve their very best when we maintain a very effective
school. My staff
and I will continue implementing the B.E.S.T. Practices to ensure all students
maintain positive
student behaviors that affect learning. Together we developed the Parent Student
Teacher
Agreement. The agreement must be signed and return to school by September 8. We
believe
teaching students our rules and expectations will result in a safe, respectful
and responsible
learning community.
Daily attendance is very important. Your assistance is needed in getting your
child to school
on time every day and prepared for learning. (See the school hours for specific
start and end
times). We reward students for perfect attendance each marking period. Make it a
goal for your
child to attend school daily.
Reading at home is also very important. Continue to encourage reading at home
and to
provide a quiet place to study and do homework. Parents are welcomed to visit
and/ or
volunteer in the classrooms. In order not to interrupt instruction time, I ask
that you sign in
the office and receive a badge before entering the classrooms. Classroom visits
can be
arranged with the classroom teachers prior to your visit. Parents are also
encouraged to
support the school by joining the PTA, attending Back To School Night and other
school
sponsored events.
In this
newsletter I have included some frequently requested information and the school
calendar.
Please check the school newsletters, the marquee and the
Wednesday folder
for current dates and information. Thank you for entrusting
your child with us. Working
together, we will have a very successful school
year.
